Truth be told, I was never a fan of audiobooks. I tried numerous times but kept spacing out and getting bored or completely lost in the story. I am a pretty fast reader and I liked controlling the pace of the story – letting that go to the audio was hard.
But then I heard someone mention on a podcast that they really enjoyed listening to memoirs, and that was a game-changer for me. I struggle with fiction but for some reason, that first-person/personal story approach works.
For Christmas, I asked for a Libro.fm gift membership. While there are other options (which I will dive into another post soon) what I love most about Libro, besides their selection, is that my purchase directly benefits my local indie bookstore.

I activated the gift membership this weekend and choose Taste by Stanley Tucci as my first audiobook for 2022. I will be sure to review it once I finish!
If you are interested in a Libro.fm membership you can visit their website to learn about the memberships options. If you use my referral link we will both receive a FREE audiobook.
They offer great lists of audiobook options but here are a few audiobooks I have listened to and loved:
